We are working towards the realization of a research-scale quantum computer based on superconducting
integrated circuits. Current research directions include:
- Fundamental studies of
dephasing and dissipation in Josephson-junction qubits PDF ;
- Investigations of excess 1/f magnetic flux noise PDF PDF ; and
- Development of quantum-limited microwave amplifiers based on the dc Superconducting QUantum
Interference Device (dc SQUID) PDF .
Other interests include novel readout schemes for Josephson phase qubits, and application of SQUIDs to nuclear magnetic resonance and magnetic resonance imaging in microtesla magnetic fields.
